Prepare for CAT with a visual teacher

Common Admission Test: every topic on the syllabus, explained out loud with live visuals by a 1:1 AI teacher that stops when you interrupt and checks you got it.

The exam

What is CAT?

CAT is the Common Admission Test, a postgraduate entrance exam (India). A computer-based test conducted by the IIMs with three timed sections taken in fixed order, so candidates cannot shift time between them. Questions are multiple-choice with negative marking, alongside type-in-the-answer questions that carry no penalty. Reading comprehension passages, logic puzzles with data sets, and arithmetic, algebra and geometry problems dominate. Scaled scores lead to shortlists, after which schools conduct written tests, group discussions and interviews.

Who takes it: Graduates and final-year students applying to the Indian Institutes of Management and many other business schools for MBA and management programmes.

What it tests

CAT subjects and sections

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
  • Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
  • Quantitative Ability

Ask any topic from any of these and the tutor pitches the lesson to the exam, with the terms and the depth it expects.

How to prepare

Studying for CAT, step by step

  1. 01

    Prioritise

Because sections are separately timed, prepare each one to a passing level; a single weak section can block the shortlist despite a strong total.

  2. 02

    Practise

In logical reasoning, learn to judge set difficulty in the first minute and abandon a puzzle that resists, since completed sets drive the score.

  3. 03

    Avoid the traps

Read widely outside your field, editorials and essays especially, to lift reading speed and inference in verbal passages.

  4. 04

    Ask, then watch

Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.

  5. 05

    Interrupt and check

Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.

  6. 06

    Your papers

Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Tests for graded tests.

Ask it anything

Questions CAT students ask

  • How do I approach a tough arrangement puzzle in DILR?
  • Teach me shortcuts for ratio and proportion problems.
  • How do I find the main idea in a dense passage?

Questions

Asked, Answered

Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for CAT?

Yes. Ask any topic from the CAT syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. Because sections are separately timed, prepare each one to a passing level; a single weak section can block the shortlist despite a strong total.

Can I use my own CAT past papers and notes?

Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. The Tests section adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.

Does it teach in the language I study CAT in?

LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including English) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
