The exam
What is VCE?
VCE is the Victorian Certificate of Education, a school leaving exam (Australia (Victoria)). Administered by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, with each study structured in units across two years. Final-year units are assessed through school-assessed coursework or tasks and external examinations, which are combined into study scores. An English study is required, and the General Achievement Test is taken by all final-year students. Study scores are scaled by the admissions centre to produce an ATAR. A vocational major pathway is also offered.
Who takes it: Students completing Years 11 and 12 in Victoria, who need it to graduate from secondary school and for university or vocational entry.

How to prepare
Studying for VCE, step by step
01
Prioritise
School-assessed coursework runs through the year and is moderated by the examination, so consistent effort across tasks lifts your study score.
02
Practise
Examination questions often present unfamiliar contexts; practise applying key knowledge to new scenarios rather than reproducing notes.
03
Avoid the traps
Study designs published by the authority list exactly what can be examined; use them as your revision checklist for each unit.
04
Ask, then watch
Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.
05
Interrupt and check
Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.
06
Your papers
Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Tests for graded tests.
Ask it anything
Questions VCE students ask
- Explain probability distributions for Mathematical Methods.
- Teach me how to compare texts for VCE English.
- How do I answer a Psychology research methods question?
Questions
Asked, Answered
Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for VCE?
Yes. Ask any topic from the VCE syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. School-assessed coursework runs through the year and is moderated by the examination, so consistent effort across tasks lifts your study score.
Can I use my own VCE past papers and notes?
Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. The Tests section adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.
Does it teach in the language I study VCE in?
LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including English) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
