Prepare for EJU with a visual teacher

Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students: every topic on the syllabus, explained out loud with live visuals by a 1:1 AI teacher that stops when you interrupt and checks you got it.

The exam

What is EJU?

EJU is the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, a university entrance exam (Japan and test centres across Asia). Administered by the Japan Student Services Organization and offered in Japan and several Asian cities. Candidates choose subjects their target universities require: a Japanese language paper with reading, listening and writing, plus science, a social studies paper called Japan and the World, and mathematics at two course levels. Subject papers may be taken in Japanese or English. Universities combine scores with their own tests and interviews.

Who takes it: International students applying to undergraduate programmes at Japanese universities, who need a standardised measure of Japanese and academic subject ability.

What it tests

EJU subjects and sections

  • Japanese as a Foreign Language
  • Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
  • Japan and the World
  • Mathematics

Ask any topic from any of these and the tutor pitches the lesson to the exam, with the terms and the depth it expects.

How to prepare

Studying for EJU, step by step

  1. 01

    Prioritise

Check each university's required subject combination and language of examination before studying, since requirements differ widely between faculties.

  2. 02

    Practise

The Japanese paper rewards academic reading speed and structured short essays, so practise writing opinion pieces within a tight limit.

  3. 03

    Avoid the traps

Mathematics follows the Japanese high-school curriculum; review topics that your home curriculum may have ordered differently, such as vectors and sequences.

  4. 04

    Ask, then watch

Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.

  5. 05

    Interrupt and check

Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.

  6. 06

    Your papers

Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Tests for graded tests.

Ask it anything

Questions EJU students ask

  • Explain the Japanese writing task and how to structure it.
  • Teach me sequences and series for EJU Mathematics Course 2.
  • How does the Japanese Diet differ from a presidential system?

Questions

Asked, Answered

Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for EJU?

Yes. Ask any topic from the EJU syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. Check each university's required subject combination and language of examination before studying, since requirements differ widely between faculties.

Can I use my own EJU past papers and notes?

Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. The Tests section adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.

Does it teach in the language I study EJU in?

LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including Japanese, English, Mandarin and Vietnamese) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
