Prepare for UCAT with a visual teacher
University Clinical Aptitude Test: every topic on the syllabus, explained out loud with live visuals by a 1:1 AI teacher that stops when you interrupt and checks you got it.
The exam
What is UCAT?
UCAT is the University Clinical Aptitude Test, a university entrance exam (United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand). A computer-based aptitude test taken at a test centre in the year of application. Cognitive subtests cover verbal reasoning from short passages, decision making with logic puzzles and data, and quantitative reasoning with everyday calculations; the situational judgement subtest assesses responses to clinical and ethical scenarios. The abstract reasoning subtest was removed recently. Each subtest is strictly timed and universities use scores differently in shortlisting for interviews.
Who takes it: Applicants to undergraduate medical and dental programmes at many universities in the United Kingdom, and at participating universities in Australia and New Zealand.
What it tests
UCAT subjects and sections
- Verbal Reasoning
- Decision Making
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Situational Judgement
Ask any topic from any of these and the tutor pitches the lesson to the exam, with the terms and the depth it expects.
How to prepare
Studying for UCAT, step by step
01
Prioritise
Time per question is very short, so learn triage: answer what you can quickly, flag the rest and return only if time remains.
02
Practise
Situational judgement is about professional values, not knowledge; read the General Medical Council's guidance on good medical practice before practising.
03
Avoid the traps
Keyboard shortcuts and the on-screen calculator save seconds on every quantitative question; practise with them in the official interface.
04
Ask, then watch
Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.
05
Interrupt and check
Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.
06
Your papers
Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Tests for graded tests.
Ask it anything
Questions UCAT students ask
- Explain how to approach a UCAT syllogism question.
- How do I speed up verbal reasoning true, false, can't tell questions?
- Teach me quick mental arithmetic for quantitative reasoning.
Questions
Asked, Answered
Can LetMeTeach help me prepare for UCAT?
Yes. Ask any topic from the UCAT syllabus and the tutor plans a lesson pitched to the exam, explains it out loud with live visuals, stops when you interrupt, and asks a checkpoint question. Time per question is very short, so learn triage: answer what you can quickly, flag the rest and return only if time remains.
Can I use my own UCAT past papers and notes?
Yes. Upload PDFs and images, such as photos of class notes or a past paper, up to 3 files per session and 10 MB each, and the tutor grounds the session in them. The Tests section adds tests from a question bank and AI tests, graded on the server.
Does it teach in the language I study UCAT in?
LetMeTeach teaches in 26 languages (including English) and plans the lesson in the language you choose rather than translating it. The Free plan includes 7 hours a month with no card.
