The exam
What is CBSE Class 12?
CBSE Class 12 is the Central Board of Secondary Education Senior School Certificate Examination (Class 12), a school board exam (India and CBSE-affiliated schools abroad). Externally set written examinations in each chosen subject, plus practicals or projects assessed in school for subjects such as the sciences, computer science and geography. Papers combine multiple-choice, assertion-reason, case-based and long-answer questions, following the NCERT syllabus. Marks are used by universities directly and as eligibility for entrance tests, so consistent performance across all subjects matters more than brilliance in one.
Who takes it: Students completing senior secondary school in CBSE-affiliated schools in science, commerce or humanities streams, whose marks count for college admission and entrance exam eligibility.

How to prepare
Studying for CBSE Class 12, step by step
01
Prioritise
Write answers the way the marking scheme expects: labelled diagrams, named laws, units, and step marks, since examiners follow a point-by-point rubric.
02
Practise
NCERT examples and exercise questions reappear in slightly changed form, so solve every in-text and back exercise before touching reference books.
03
Avoid the traps
Balance board preparation with any entrance exam you are also taking; the syllabus overlaps heavily, but the answer style differs.
04
Ask, then watch
Type or say a topic in your own words; the tutor plans a storyboard, one picture per idea, and explains it step by step.
05
Interrupt and check
Say "wait, why?" mid-explanation and it answers on the picture; a checkpoint question ends every lesson.
06
Your papers
Upload past papers and notes so the practice follows the exam, and use Tests for graded tests.
