The subject

What is Accounting?

Accounting is the language of business: the recording, classifying and summarising of financial transactions so that owners, managers and outsiders can see how a business is doing. Studying it means learning double-entry bookkeeping, journals and ledgers, trial balances, the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement, and then analysing those statements. It is precise, rule-based and practical, and it is the foundation of finance and professional qualifications.

Where it is studied: Senior secondary commerce streams, undergraduate commerce and business degrees, and the foundation stages of professional accounting qualifications.

Why pictures

Why Accounting is taught visually

Accounting is built on layouts: T-accounts with debits and credits side by side, the flow from journal to ledger to trial balance, the accounting equation balanced on a drawn scale, a balance sheet laid out block by block. Seeing a transaction land in two accounts at once explains double entry.

The tutor draws the picture as it speaks, one idea at a time, and answers your doubt on the same picture when you interrupt.

Questions

Asked, Answered

Can an AI visual teacher explain double entry so it finally makes sense?

Yes. It draws the T-accounts and posts each transaction to both sides while explaining why, then shows the trial balance coming out even. Interrupt at any posting and it explains that entry on the same board.

Can I bring my own practice problems?

Upload a photo or PDF of the question, such as a set of transactions or an unadjusted trial balance, and the tutor works through it step by step in your chosen language, explaining each adjustment as it goes.

How do I practise for an accounting exam?

The Tests section offers server-graded tests from a question bank and AI-made tests on bookkeeping, final accounts and ratios. When you get something wrong, ask the tutor for a different explanation of that exact step.
